Preconditioning
Preconditioning can be started directly or set via timer, from the centre display or using a mobile phone.
- In a cold climate, the electric heating system warms up the passenger compartment to a comfortable temperature.
- The air conditioning, in a hot climate, cools the passenger compartment to the comfort temperature.
- Heated seats* for driver and passengers are activated automatically at an ambient temperature of 10°C(50°F) or lower. The seat heater is activated at level 1, regardless of the previous setting.
- Heated rear window and door mirrors are automatically activated as required.
During preconditioning in a hot climate, condensation from the air conditioning may drip under the car. This is normal.
Heating the battery
Battery heating is activated automatically if the timer for preconditioning is activated and the charging cable is connected.
Heating the battery takes place if the internal temperature in the battery is low. If the car is used on a regular basis, battery heating may not be necessary, despite the ambient temperature being low.
