Automatic car wash
The car should be washed as soon as it becomes dirty. The longer the car is left dirty, the more difficult it will be to get it completely clean and there is a risk of scratching the paintwork.

Polestar has recommendations with respect to cleaning agents and car care products suitable for the different parts of the car. Contact Polestar Customer Support for more information on which products are suitable to use.
Washing the car in an automatic car wash is a simple and quick way of getting it clean but it cannot reach everywhere. Polestar recommends washing your car by hand or using an automatic car wash supplemented with washing by hand.
Note
Polestar recommends that the car is not washed in an automatic car wash during the first few months (this is because the paintwork has not fully hardened).

Be aware that the keyless locking and unlocking function may cause the car to be locked/unlocked when the car is being washed if the key is within range.
- Before washing the car, make sure that the automatic rain sensor is deactivated, otherwise there is the risk of it starting as well as damage to the wiper arms.
- Fold in the door mirrors by tapping on L and R at the same time.
- Switch off the parking sensors and autobrake in the parking view.
- For tunnel car washes:For portal car washes:
- Put the gear in N and take your foot off the accelerator. Do not apply the parking brake.
- Put the gear in P to apply the parking brake.
- Then check that all windows are closed, that any auxiliary lights and other accessories are secured and that the air recirculation is switched on.
The driver is responsible for ensuring that the car is ready for washing.
Important
The system will automatically activate the parking brake if the above steps are not followed. The parking brake must not be activated when using an automatic car wash with tunnel.
Important
Do not switch off the car via the centre display when washing the car in a car wash with tunnel. The parking brake is activated if the car is switched off.
Important
Do not use towing mode during automatic car washing.
After washing the car
Important
Dry the brakes after washing the car in order to reduce the risk of corrosion. While braking is in progress, shift to N in order to warm up the friction brakes. The function warms up the brakes so that they dry more quickly. Make sure that other road users are not put at risk by the braking.
