Plug & Charge
Plug & Charge is activated via ISO 15118, an international standard for charging electric vehicles. When you use Plug & Charge, you do not need any additional cards, apps or manual authentication steps. You simply need to connect the charging cable to the car, which automatically detects and authenticates the car, and starts charging.
The number of charging stations that support Plug & Charge is limited and it is not certain that all types of charging will be supported. If the charging station does not support Plug & Charge, you must authorise yourself at the charger.
There are other ways that can help you make the charging process easier. By using the car's VIN number or MAC address, you can connect the information to various apps and charging operators. The car can then be identified automatically at the charging station without the need for additional cards. The car's driver display may not show all information or instructions for these methods.
