Electric performance isn’t purely about power. It’s also about handling, responsiveness, and control. To obtain the perfect balance, Polestar electric roadster concept features a unibody made of different grades of anodised aluminium. By combining their individual attributes, they form a structure that is stiff, responsive and extremely light, offering an unparalleled electric experience.

Polestar electric roadster concept is based on our own scalable platform, which it shares with Polestar Precept. It allows the bonded unibody to be adapted with minimal modifications, offering maximal design flexibility when developing future cars. Furthermore, changes can be made without compromising weight or stiffness, ensuring that Polestar’s distinctive responsiveness remains throughout.

Despite its recyclability, the process of reclaiming aluminium is far from circular. Recyclers receive cars in the form of a crushed cube, which is then shredded and separated. As this method doesn’t distinguish between different aluminium grades, the materials are downcycled, rather than recycled, creating aluminium of the lowest grade. Polestar electric roadster concept closes the material loop, by featuring a unibody made of clearly labelled grades of aluminium, which enables like materials to be recycled together, ready for the next application.
