There's no need to drive to a service point for software updates. A Polestar will automatically display a notification when the latest over-the-air update is available, leaving the driver to choose a convenient time for downloading and installing. We recommend updating the software when the car is plugged in and charging overnight. If there's a problem, please get in touch with Polestar Support. Over-the-air updates are not available for Polestar 1.

Bring your car to an authorized service location and we'll take care of the entire update process for you. It should take about the same time as upgrading the operating system on your laptop, including backups, installation and testing.
