Emergency 12 V supply terminal
If your car has a total loss of power and the doors can't be opened, the 12 V terminal can be accessed externally and used to power the car for a short time. Polestar recommends that the 12 V terminal is only used by service technicians for the purpose of accessing the car as part of immobilisation recovery.
Important
- Do not use the 12 V terminal yourself, wait for a service technician.
- Only use a 12 V charger with a maximum charging current below 30 A.
- Connecting any power source that delivers currents higher than 30 A blows the terminal's fuse, thereby disabling it.
- Only use the 12 V terminal for short amounts of time. This is not meant as a way of powering the car continuously.
The 12 V terminal is accessed by opening the rectangular panel located in front of the left wheel housing. Behind the panel, there are two red cables for the positive terminal and one black cable for the negative terminal. The black cable is positioned slightly higher and may need to be gently pulled down to be used. Hold the two red cables together when connecting them to an external power source.
