Transparency is one of our core values. It’s a powerful tool to improve sustainable practice and enable more informed customer decisions.

From detailed, up-to-date reporting on emissions and climate impact, to material sourcing and supply chain traceability, transparency is key to Polestar making tangible progress.

Polestar is committed to reducing our planetary impact. Open communication is key to making that happen. We produce regularly updated reports on our progress, blockers, and ultimate goals.

The annual Polestar Sustainability report takes an in-depth look at each aspect of Polestar’s business operation, from design and supply chain to production and carbon footprint. The report covers progress made, challenges faced, and where the business is going next. It deals with both specifics and the bigger picture, and is available to read in full.

More about responsible sourcing

It’s vital for us to be fully aware of where the materials in components used in our cars originate from. For example, the extraction of raw minerals and metals presents a unique set of risks, ranging from regional corruption and conflict to potential pollution from hazardous waste. The use of blockchain technology allows us to trace the origins of selected raw materials and assess related risks.

Where possible we aim to use increasing quantities of recycled materials. For example, PET material obtained from plastic bottles is used to produce interior components.
