Troubleshooting problems with the Polestar app

If you experience problems enabling or using the functions in the Polestar app, there are a few things you can try.

Problems connecting the Polestar app to the vehicle

  • Make sure that all of the vehicle keys are inside the vehicle if you are connecting as administrator, or one of the vehicle's keys if you are connecting as non-administrator.
  • Make sure that Bluetooth is switched on in the phone.
  • If there is an already paired phone in the vehicle, try turning off this phone's Bluetooth.
  • Restarting the vehicle's communication module (TCAM).
  • Restart the center display.
  • When the prompt to connect the phone appears in the Polestar app, you may in some cases need to tap it twice.

Problems with Polestar app functions

 Note

Do not uninstall the Polestar app without first deleting the connection between the app and the vehicle. If the Polestar app is only deleted, you may have problems connecting to the vehicle in the future.
If you experience problems with any of the functions in the app, try the following:
  • Restart the app.
  • Make sure that your Polestar ID is shown in your user profile in the center display. Go to your user profile, tap PS2-21w22-Profilinställningar pil and select Accounts. Polestar should be available in the list. Otherwise, it needs to be added.
  • Make sure that data sharing is enabled for Polestar Connect.
  • Make sure your phone is listed in the vehicle under connected devices in the center display. Go to your user profile, tap PS2-21w22-Profilinställningar pil and select Digital Key and remote functions > Paired devices.
  • If your vehicle has received a software update, it may take up to 36 hours before the app receives data from the vehicle again.
  • If your vehicle has received a software update, been left untouched for more than 72 hours or been parked in a location with a poor GPS signal, you will need to drive the vehicle to reactivate all functions.
  • Make sure that Bluetooth is switched on in the phone.
  • If any other phone is connected, check if all functions are working as expected from it.
  • Try locking/unlocking the vehicle using a physical vehicle key to re-establish communication between the vehicle and the app.
  • Restarting the vehicle's communication module (TCAM).
