Beyond the Road: Jesse Montgomery

Meet Jesse Montgomery. Car enthusiast, early adopter, and community builder. In the desert surroundings of Arizona, the Polestar enthusiast discusses how his connection to Polestar is reflected in both his lifestyle and his drive.

The BST fits me. It’s expressive, dynamic and more extroverted.

In the clear skies and open roads of Scottsdale, Arizona, where the desert stretches endlessly, Jesse Montgomery’s Polestar 2 BST stands out.

For Jesse, cars have always been more than transportation. Over the years, he’s owned nearly 30. But something shifted the moment he encountered Polestar. Having long been drawn to another Scandinavian car brand, he quickly switched when Polestar emerged as a standalone, fully EV brand.

That curiosity quickly became commitment. “The performance heritage was what sold me to Polestar”. For him, the Polestar 2 was an immediate yes from the very first drive. “Polestar 2 feels like it was built for me,” he says.

Today, that connection extends beyond a single car. Jesse drives a Polestar 2 BST 230, while his partner Rasheed, introduced to the brand through him, drives a Polestar 2 Long range Single motor. Their cars reflect not only their lifestyle, but their personalities. “The BST fits me,” Jesse explains. “It’s expressive, dynamic and more extroverted. Rasheed’s car reflects him: grounded, stable, passionate. We are reflected by the cars we drive.” And with the arrival of his first Polestar 4 approaching, that journey continues.

For Jesse, the shift to electric was never just a practical decision. Sustainability, of course, plays a role, but the experience of driving matters just as much. “Yes, it’s a green choice. But it’s also the most fun, and the most convenient. I go home, plug in, and I’m ready for the next day.”

Driving a Polestar also brings with it a certain attention. The design invites curiosity. “It’s a privilege to drive a track car as your everyday car. People ask, ‘What are you driving?’” Jesse says. “And that gives me the opportunity to talk about this amazing car I get to drive.”

As one of the first Polestar 2 owners in the U.S. in 2021, he recalls, “People didn’t know what it was. They just saw something beautiful, something different. It gave me the chance to share a brand I’m really passionate about.”

That passion has only deepened after participating in polestar events. From track sessions in northern Sweden to performance driving at Sonoma Raceway, Jesse has engaged with the cars, and the people behind them, on a level few drivers do. “You’re not just driving. You’re learning how the car behaves, how to push it, how to improve. The engineers and professional drivers take the time to teach you. I’ve learned so much as a driver because of that.”

It’s this level of engagement and detail that sets Polestar apart for him. “You feel valued. It’s not just about the product, it’s about the relationship.” Being invited to events, meeting the people behind the brand, and experiencing the cars in different environments has reinforced the sense of belonging to the Polestar community.

For Jesse, alignment with a brand goes beyond performance and design. It’s about shared values. “I want to support a company that’s serious about sustainability, inclusivity, and community. That’s non-negotiable.” As an early adopter of electric vehicles in the United States, he sees Polestar as part of a broader shift, one that extends beyond mobility. “They’re actively thinking about their impact. About carbon footprint. About diversity and inclusion. That matters to me.”

Community, in particular, plays a central role. Before relocating to Arizona, Jesse even started a Polestar community online in Minneapolis, bringing together like-minded drivers who shared not just an interest in the cars, but in what they represent. “It became clear very quickly, this isn’t just a brand. It’s a community.”

A first Polestar 4 is on its way. For Jesse, it's a continuation of something that started the moment he took the wheel.

“Driving a Polestar” he says. “In many ways, feels like a love affair.”
