Plug & Charge
Plug & Charge is activated via ISO 15118, an international standard for electric vehicle charging. When you use Plug & Charge, you don't need any additional cards, apps or manual authentication steps. You only need to plug the charging cable into the vehicle, which automatically detects and authenticates the vehicle and starts charging.
The number of charging stations supporting Plug & Charge is limited and not all types of charging may be supported. If the charging station doesn't support Plug & Charge, you will need to authorize yourself at the charger.
There are other ways that can help you simplify the charging process. By using the vehicle's VIN number or MAC address, you can connect information to different apps and charging operators. The vehicle can then be identified automatically at the charging station without you needing any additional cards. The vehicle's instrument panel may not show all information or instructions for these methods.
