Digital key

You can lock, unlock and start the vehicle by using your phone as a digital key. The digital key is stored in your phone's wallet app.
Digital key

With a digital key, your vehicle can recognize your phone and automatically unlock or lock the doors when you approach or leave the vehicle. It also lets you lock and unlock the vehicle via your phone's wallet app or by using your phone as a key card.

To start your vehicle using the digital key, bring it with you inside the vehicle or place it on the wireless charger.

 Note

  • Some devices might not be compatible with the digital key. If you're not sure if your device supports digital keys, check with your phone's manufacturer.
  • If your phone doesn't have UWB1 capability, it isn't distance-capable and can only be used as a key card.

Owner key

Vehicle owners can share their digital key with family and friends, They can also delete any shared keys at any time.

Owners can also share their digital key to another compatible device or move their main digital key to another device: for example, when they get a new phone.

 Note

Sometimes, signal interference may affect distance-capability functions.

If a digital key appears to not be working as intended, try restarting your phone or turn Bluetooth off and on. If you still experience issues, contact Polestar Customer Support.

 Tip

In case of any issues with using your digital key, keep a key card close to hand.
If you're having problems with your connection, make sure that:
  • your phone is charged
  • there are no obstructions such as concrete pillars between the phone and the vehicle
  • your vehicle and phone are updated to the latest software version
  • any required access settings are selected
  • Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
