Sounds from your vehicle

There are several sounds that may come from your vehicle. If you're unsure about a sound your vehicle is making, see if an explanation for it is listed here.

While your vehicle is generally quiet, you might still hear some sounds related to driving and the daily use of your vehicle. Some sounds are relevant to you as a driver and are played to alert you to something or inform you about what's happening. Other sounds aim to alert people outside of the vehicle. Some are simply mechanical sounds, which are normal and nothing to worry about.

Listed here are some common sounds that can be good to know and recognize.

 Note

The sounds below are only provided as guidance to help familiarize you with common sounds that may be heard from your vehicle, either when driving or at a standstill. It's not a complete list of all sounds that you may hear and it's not meant to be used for vehicle diagnosis.
