Cleaning leather
The leather in your vehicle is treated before delivery to preserve its original appearance. Over time, the protective layer will wear off and you will need to clean and treat the surface to make it more resistant to damage.
The leather cleaning recommendations only apply to real leather details. Materials that are similar in appearance, such as the MicroTech fabric, have separate recommendations for cleaning and care.
Important
When cleaning upholstery
- Never scrape or rub dirty surfaces. Instead, use gentle circular motions. Remember that sharp objects or abrasive materials can damage the vehicle.
- Cleaning only spots in the upholstery can leave water rings or other marks.
- Do not use a steam cleaner on leather.
- Do not remove surface upholstery during cleaning.
- Do not use products meant for leather on MicroTech.
- Only use cleaning agents and vehicle care products recommended by Polestar, and follow the instructions for each product. Contact Polestar Customer Support for more information.
Warning
Seats with side airbags
Never spray a cleaning agent directly on the sides of seats with side airbags. Instead, wipe them clean with a cloth lightly dampened with a suitable cleaning agent.
Vacuum or dust the area to remove loose dust and dirt.
Use a clean neutral-colored microfiber cloth lightly dampened with a cleaning agent, and clean the area with gentle circular motions.
Let the leather dry fully before further use or applying any treatments.
