Polestar 2

Performance

Chassis

A car with good handling responds predictably, regardless of the road surface or driving conditions. The Polestar 2 chassis integrates the battery and pairs high torsional stiffness with a low center of gravity to ensure a responsive, assertive drive.

Powertrains

Polestar 2's powertrain combines optimal torque with excellent handling, resulting in performance that drivers will feel at every press of the acceleration pedal.

All-wheel drive

Polestar 2 comes with an all-wheel drive powertrain, optimized for performance and driver engagement. The newly developed asynchronous front motor, permanent magnet rear motor, and silicon carbide inverter increase efficiency and torque, while the all-wheel drive system can disengage the front axle to further reduce energy consumption.

Suspension

The suspension is tuned to deliver a dynamic drive without compromising comfort or safety. This setup enables an optimal connection to the road regardless of conditions.

Öhlins Dual Flow Valve dampers

Sharing the same uncompromising approach to engineering, Polestar and suspension experts Öhlins have jointly developed the DFV dampers for the Polestar 2. They can easily be configured to suit various driving environments while providing unparalleled grip, responsiveness, and balance.

Driving characteristics

Adjustable steering feedback

Polestar 2's progressive power steering adapts to the car's speed, providing less feedback when moving slowly and more feedback when traveling faster. Drivers can also adjust the steering feel to their personal preference, choosing the "light" setting for navigating city streets, "standard" for highways, and "firm" for active driving on twisty roads.

Driving characteristics

One Pedal Drive

Drive, brake, and regenerate, all with One Pedal Drive. Releasing the accelerator reverses the torque direction of the electric motors, which slows the car down and produces charge that extends the Polestar 2's range.

Driving characteristics

Sport mode

Activating Sport mode eases the assistance provided by the vehicle's Electronic Stability Control system, giving the driver greater influence on the car's handling. This mode also improves the car's traction when driving on surfaces such as ice, snow, or gravel.

20" Performance wheels

Using a manufacturing technique developed for motorsport, forged alloy wheels are shaped by pressing rather than casting, making them lighter and stronger than conventional wheels. Together with the Sport contact 6 tires, these wheels provide optimal handling and road contact.

Building on decades of motorsport experience, Brembo brakes are engineered to the highest performance and safety standards. The ventilated, drilled discs and four-piston aluminum calipers offer a quick response at any temperature while reducing weight, wear, noise, and dust build-up.

More about Polestar 2

  1. Certified performance figures based on Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor with Performance pack. Results may vary based on environment, road conditions, driving style, and vehicle load.
  2. Certified EPA range data. Results may vary based on environment, road conditions, driving style, and vehicle load. This is an electric vehicle. Since electricity is not measured in gallons, a conversion factor is used to translate the fuel economy into miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent (MPGe). Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor with Performance pack EPA-estimated combined 94 city/87 highway/90 combined MPGe figures. Use for comparison purposes only. Your MPGe will vary for many reasons, including but not limited to, driving conditions, how and where you drive, how you maintain your vehicle, battery-package/condition, and other factors.
